Simple Inventory Management Guidance for the Maison Momotaro Bakery MSMEs

Abstract

This community service program aims to optimize the managerial capacity of the Maison Momotaro Bakery MSME by strengthening a simple inventory management system. The main challenges faced by the partner stem from an unstructured conventional stock-recording mechanism, which leads to the risk of data discrepancies, raw material inefficiencies, and operational cash flow constraints. To address these issues, the implementation method was carried out systematically through four main stages: problem identification through observation, education on inventory management literacy, assistance in developing inventory tools, and periodic monitoring and evaluation. The results of the intervention demonstrate a significant improvement in partners’ understanding of the importance of inventory control for business resilience. Currently, partners have been able to implement an organized system for recording inventory transactions and conduct periodic inventory reconciliations to mitigate the risks of stockouts and the accumulation of unproductive inventory. Comprehensively, this community service initiative has made a tangible contribution to enhancing production effectiveness and business management efficiency. This success serves as a strategic foundation for Maison Momotaro Bakery in building a more professional, measurable, and sustainable operational system for the future.
